Team Spirit
MEMORY VERSE: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." — Proverbs 3:5 (NIV)
“We’ve got spirt, yes we do!” It’s easy to cheer when your team is winning, but it’s a lot harder when things don’t go the way you hoped. In this series, we'll learn what it means to stick with God’s team through the good times and the hard ones, like when waiting feels long, things feel unfair, or we feel left out. As we hear stories from the Bible, we’ll discover that following God, trusting God’s promises, and helping one another are all part of showing real team spirit.
Big Ideas / Stories & Summaries:
- August 19 | We can follow God's direction.
- This week, kids learn about how Noah trusted God's directions to build an ark, even when no one else understood why. When you’re on a team, you don’t ignore the coach's game plan. This week, we’ll hear how Noah listened carefully to God and followed God’s directions, even when no one else understood what he was doing. Noah trusted that God knew what was best. We’ll learn that being on God’s team means choosing to listen and obey because we can follow God’s directions.
- August 26 | God gives hope when things feel impossible.

- September 2 | God is with us when life feels unfair.
- This week, kids discover that God didn't forget Joseph even when was betrayed, enslaved, and imprisoned. It’s frustrating when the rules seem to change mid game or the calls don’t go your way. This week, we'll hear how Joseph was treated badly and sent far away, even though he hadn’t done anything wrong. Through every hard moment, God stayed with Joseph and never left him alone. We’ll discover that God is with us when life is unfair.
- September 9 | God shows us we need each other.
- This week, kids explore how Joseph was put in charge during a famine and later reunited with his family. A team can’t win if everyone plays for themselves. This week, we'll hear how God used Joseph and his family to help each other, forgive each other, and work together during a hard time. God showed them that everyone had an important role to play. We’ll learn that being on God’s team means God shows us we need each other.
