Annie Armstrong Easter Offering | FBC Goal $7,000
Who is Annie?
Annie was born in Baltimore at a time when there was little opportunity for women. Yet, her devotion to Christ led her to a life of service and leadership. She organized women to pray, to give and to meet the needs around them. She challenged pastors and churches to action and rallied vital support for missionaries. Ultimately, Annie was recognized as a national Southern Baptist trailblazer for her visionary leadership that still inspires millions today.
What is the Week of Prayer?
Every year, SBC churches observe the Week of Prayer for North American missions by praying for missionaries, their ministries and their families. Because these missionaries make Jesus known in places all over the U.S. and Canada where there’s little or no gospel witness, they experience opposition and they battle loneliness and discouragement. That’s why they need your prayers.
International State Missions Offering
LOTTIE MOON CHRISTMAS OFFERING
International Missions
DECEMBER
What is the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering?
Lottie Moon was sent as a Southern Baptist missionary to China from 1873 to 1912. She saw firsthand the world’s greatest problem — LOSTNESS. Meeting so many people who had never heard the gospel compelled her to write letters to American churches describing the need for a greater missionary presence.
What is the "Week of Prayer"?
The Week of Prayer for International Missions is a special, focused time of prayer for Southern Baptist missionaries serving through the International Mission Board and the people whom they serve.
How much of the offering actually goes to International Missions?
In addition to prayer, your generosity in giving to the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering can make an eternal impact. When you give directly to this offering, 100% of your gifts support missionaries around the world.
10 Things you should know about Lottie!
- Lottie was born in Virginia on December 12, 1840.Her name was Charlotte Digges Moon, but everyone called her “Lottie.”She was 4’9” tall. Before she became a Christian while in high school, Lottie missed required chapels 26 times.Lottie loved to pull pranks on others. Once, when asked what the “D” stood for in her middle name, she replied, “Devil.”Lottie was appointed to China as a missionary at age 33 and served there 39 years, primarily in Tengchow and Pingtu. She wore Chinese clothes and lived like her Chinese neighbors.Lottie had several nicknames in China—foreign devil, foreign lady teacher, heavenly book visitor, and the cookie maker. (Lottie baked cookies to win the hearts of the children and families who were frightened of her.)Lottie led in the campaign to end the practice of bound feet. The Chinese believed small feet made a woman more beautiful, so girls’ feet were bound tightly with cloth. Girls with bound feet could hardly walk, and infections, gangrene, and even death were common side effects of this practice. In 1912 at the end of her career, famine, flood, and war encircled her China. Her friends were starving. In a final act of empathy, Lottie stopped eating and gave all her food away. When her friends realized the depth of her sickness, they put her on a boat to return to the United States. Lottie died on Christmas Eve while en route to the U.S.

Eliza Broadus
September 8-15, 2024
What is missionKY (the Eliza Broadus Offering for State Missions®)?
Understanding that missions is what believers do to reach beyond the needs of their congregations to witness and minister for the purpose of fulfilling the Great Commission, Kentucky WMU designed the Eliza Broadus Offering® to advance Kentucky Baptists ministry and missions efforts to help people come to know Christ.
2024 THEME
The year’s theme is called “The Gospel At Home” based on the scripture Luke 8: 39 (NIV). God has challenged all believers to return to our homes and tell how much God has done for us. From multilanguage ministry to the underserved, from the local church to the nations next door, Kentucky Baptists are telling about the living.
The Gospel At Home.
We invite you to join us September 8-15, 2024, and mobilize your church to reach every Kentuckian by praying, giving and going.
